the name of our blog

I was going to wait and write the next entry tonight after I packed, but I got this email when I woke up from my lovely Aunt Judy who lives in the Catskill Mountains. She has really helped me through my life to keep a steady mind and accept the path I end up on. This trip is no different. Anyways the email follows..I hope she does not mind me sharing this...

"WHY did you call your gorgeous blog a crisis??? I don't feel crisis energy around it at all - it's more adventure energy, its a classical move actually, to go to Europe to "come of age" after college.  It's a move into the unknown to see what you learn,what direction the universe will give you, what the "world village" will say to you regarding your talents...Would you reconsider calling it a Crisis???????????

I love this. In fact I think my Aunt just took the words out of my mouth. A move into the unknown. A classic post-college adventure. I am super into it. My Aunt has always been able to bring me back down to the ground and not get caught up in the mumbo jumbo.

Which brings me to address the name of our blog. It is more a joke for all the people who have given Emily and I crap about not having jobs or settling down and calling this time a "crisis" for us. I guess you could say society looks at this time as they look at 40+ men who buy motorcycles and call it a mid-life crisis. When really maybe the man just wants a fun bike! Life can get boring in a mini van...

Anyways the blog title will stay. Tonight I am getting together with my dear friend from high school, Jamie, to pack. I will "set it, and forget it!". I want it to be done now so the next few days are not crazy leading up to my trip, one last item to check off.
